Replacing the Subaru Forester self levelling suspension can result in the rear end of the car sitting too low. This is because the original spring is too weak to support the vehicle without the aid of the self levelling shock absorber. These kits are designed to be a direct fit replacement for the Subaru Forester self levelling shock absorbers. This is achieved by installing a conventional style rear shock and spring designed for this application using a matched set of dampers and springs specifically for this purpose. The car will be at normal ride height when unladen. You will lose the self levelling function of the original equipment but the heavier duty spring will compensate on all but heavily laden cars. On SF models an even heavier duty spring can be supplied for cars that are regularly run fully laden.
